Separately, Guterres has said peacekeepers would still be needed after the current mandate ends on December 31, 2026, and he laid out three options by June 1 to keep UN personnel in Lebanon to monitor the Blue Line and support the Lebanese armed forces, with contingents ranging from nearly 2,000 to more than 5,500.
