Martha Hall Findlay, director of the University of Calgary's School of Public Policy and one of the original architects of the Pathways carbon capture proposal, explains why she believes the project should have been postponed despite the recent agreement between Ottawa, Alberta, and the five oilsands companies behind it. Yet if that compromise is the political price of securing a new West Coast pipeline, she argues it may ultimately be worth it.
