The defense is planting flags that go directly at the prosecution's physical evidence and financial-motive special circumstance.In Nolan Wells, the independent autopsy came back undetermined. The pathologist could not examine the neck structures because Mississippi retained them. Three hundred people were on Horn Island and not one described a crime. But a $125,000 reward was posted before the autopsy results were announced. The results were announced at the NAACP Convention in Chicago, not in Mississippi.
