On the 911 call placed at 2:31 a.m. February 16, Flynn said someone had broken in, his wife Ashley had been shot, and the garage door was open. Prosecutors allege Flynn killed Ashley Flynn and staged the scene to resemble a burglary while the couple's two daughters were inside the home. Ashley was 37, coached middle school volleyball, worked as a substitute teacher, and was found dead in the bedroom. Flynn has pleaded not guilty. During trial testimony, Ohio BCI Senior Special Agent David Hammond described the garage side-door damage as inconsistent with the forced entries he had seen in burglary investigations.
