I have recommended the book The Courage to Be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga to almost every woman I have ever worked with. Because so many of the women I work with are doing enormous amounts of invisible labor in service of not being disliked. We say yes when we mean no. We stay in things we have outgrown. We dim ourselves so others are not uncomfortable. We apologize for taking up space.
