Not every relationship is meant to last forever. And treating one that has run its course as a failure may be one of the most unnecessary sources of suffering we create for ourselves. In this episode I introduce the idea of a relationship being complete rather than broken, and why that distinction changes everything about how we move through endings. A relationship that helped you through your twenties may not be the relationship you need in your forties. That does not mean it was not real or valuable. It means it did its work. I also name the specific ways women create unnecessary suffering by clinging to connections that were never designed to be permanent, and offer a more grace-filled way of honoring what something gave you before letting it go.
