Loaded up http://steemhop.org and my goal was clear, push past the wall that’s been killing me for 3 days straight. First hour was just pain. Died at 1, died at 2, hit -2 because I panicked and hopped right into a purple car. Then died at -1 again. The orange desert map with the little white bunny and red bow was starting to get on my nerves. Cars everywhere, red ones and purple ones coming from both sides, and those trains that show up out of nowhere. I kept seeing “TOP 52” at the top of the screen and I wasn’t even close. But I told myself day 4 is different. No more messing around. After maybe 20 minutes of dying I finally started to lock in. Stopped spamming and actually watched the traffic. One hop at a time. Got to 7, then 14, and then I had my best run yet and hit 19. 19 with 98 coins and I was so close to breaking my old record. The screenshot shows me right there on the tracks with cars passing and a train coming. That’s where I usually mess up but this time I waited for the gap and made it. The key was ignoring the coins. Every time before this I died chasing them, but today I just focused on survival. Getting to 19 felt good because on day 1 and 2 I wasn’t even getting past 9. You can see in the clips how the game over screen keeps popping up with the big STEEM HOP logo, but I just hit play again and again. The run that gave me hope was the 21. I got past the first road clean, dodged 3 cars back to back, and made it over the first train tracks. Then I got into the section with multiple lanes and water in between. 15, 16, 17, 19, 21.
