I loaded up http://steemhop.org and my goal was simple, beat my old high of 26 and actually make a dent in TOP 39. The first few hops were shaky, I started at 1 and almost died to a purple car right away. But then I got into rhythm. I crossed the first road, hit the tracks, and started chaining hops. 11, 18, 23, 28. The score was climbing faster than day 1 and day 2 combined. I could feel it. The cars were moving but I was reading them better, waiting half a second instead of panic hopping. When I hit 34 I knew this was a PB run and I started getting nervous. My thumb was already hurting but I didn’t care because I was so close to breaking my record. The middle part is where Steemhop usually kills me but not today. I got past the first set of trains, dodged a red car by a pixel, and kept pushing. 39, 40, 42, 44. Every hop felt like life or death. The timer was ticking down too, 1:50, 1:45, so I couldn’t just sit and wait forever. I started grabbing coins when they were safe and ignoring them when it was risky. That’s the difference from yesterday. At 44 I was already past TOP 39 and I was aiming for TOP 52 now. The game was throwing everything at me, multiple lanes of traffic and trains coming from both sides. Then I hit 45 and the game got even crazier. More cars, more trains, and the map started scrolling faster. I died once at 44 but immediately went back in because I knew I had it in me. That death just made me more determined.
