Likely shaped in Jewish circles around the third century before the common era, it tells of heavenly Watchers who descend on Mount Hermon, take wives, father violent giants, and teach arts the text presents as unauthorized and corrupting: weapons, adornment, enchantments, root-cutting, and celestial signs. Shemihazah leads the oath of descent. Azazel becomes the great teacher of war and ornamentation.
