He has pleaded not guilty; his defense concedes he fired the shots and argues self-defense. And in Honolulu, Gerhardt Konig — convicted in April of attempted manslaughter in the cliffside attack on his wife, Arielle Konig — is seeking a new trial, arguing the jury misunderstood its instructions.
