She currently serves in Adult Services at the Cynthia Graham Hurd/St. Andrews Library branch, where her day-to-day work includes reader’s advisory, community programming, and helping patrons discover books that speak to their lives and interests.Her connection to the branch is deeply personal. The library was renamed in honor of Cynthia Graham Hurd, Patrice’s late mentor and best friend, who tragically lost her life in the 2015 Emanuel AME Church shooting. Cynthia took Patrice under her wing early in her library career, leaving behind a legacy of service, literacy, and compassion that continues to inspire Patrice’s work today.Through her role at the library, Patrice does more than recommend books.
