The Minister for Rural and Community Development was in Clare on Friday. Fianna Fáil Minister Dara Calleary came to the county to see first-hand some of the projects supported by the Community Recognition Fund. In last year's allocation, Bunratty Search and Rescue Service received €86,000 to fund the acquisition of a new lifeboat and the refurbishment of another. The Minister also made stops in Lahinch and Corofin during his trip. Clare FM's Seán Lyons was in Bunratty where Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District, Clonlara Independent Councillor Michael Begley, spoke of the impact the funding has had.
