Tartaglione’s attorney strongly denied that he had harmed Epstein, describing the two men’s relationship as cordial and saying Tartaglione had actually tried to help him. Tartaglione, who was awaiting trial for the killings of four men at the time, was later cleared of involvement by an internal investigation.
