The data also shows which HR functions are growing as a result: strategic workforce planning up 33%, people analytics up 26%, and L&D up 42% — with headcount nearly doubling at Microsoft, Google, and Citi. HR leaders who own both the AI deployment side and the workforce redesign side will be the ones who architect this shift. Everyone else risks being reorganized by it.
