L208: TSMC's Three-Front Strategy Highlights 主題摘要 TSMC and Sony have signed an MOU to jointly build next-generation image sensors for automotive and robotics AI applications in Japan. At home, TSMC is spending over NT$100 billion to upgrade its Central Taiwan fab and accelerating its 1.4nm facility ahead of schedule. April revenue rose 17.5%, with analysts forecasting Q2 growth of around 35%, as hyperscalers commit US$725 billion to AI this year. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co is extending its reach beyond data centres into the physical world. The chipmaker has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Sony Semiconductor Solutions to establish a joint venture focused on next-generation image sensors, targeting physical AI applications in automotive systems and robotics. Sony will serve as majority and controlling shareholder, with development and production lines housed at its newly constructed fab in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
